Return to Iain McLaughlan's Home Page

Paul McLaughlan - This is my little brother who is a mechanical engineering consultant at Anglian Water. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from University of Herfordshire and he is doing a masters in Water and Waste Water Engineering at Cranfield University. Here he is on the left.

and here with David and me. Behind you can see 133 Leighton, Orton Malbourne where we lived.

and here he is again. He is engaged to Lucy but I do not know when he is getting married.

David McLaughlan - another little brother, here he is on the left

David is at Bible College doing Biblical studies. It is Mattersey Hall near Sheffield. I wish he would leave as I am not happy with what goes on there.

This photo is just to say thank you to David for not letting the side down...I really liked that SAS bodywarmer...Here we are in the pub...

Mark Wilson - He is an LSA at Hereward Community College. I talk to him about personal things and he puts up with it. Here he is in the garden with the bike shed and trees in the background.

Lives in a little flat near The Fleet community centre off Fletton High Street. This was taken at my parent's house. He likes listening to Bob Dylan and is into art. He has a degree in English. He writes a lot of poems.

David Fuller - This is my housemate. I try to learn something from every housemate that I have. David has very few belongings and gets rid of everything every few months. There is therefore no clutter - and less dusting. I am trying to apply this and it is working well so far. My bedroom is a lot tidier as a result and I have my sights set on the rest of the house. The spare bedroom is clear and then under the stairs. Here he is in the corner of the kitchen on a recliner underneath a WW2 'Careless talk cost lives' poster. This was one Sunday afternoon when I had in excess of 10 people round.

Ambrose Burgin - He has introduced me to the sermons of Rev Ian Paisley and I am grateful for this as these sermons are excellent in the context of secular Britain.

I have had some great times with him, we went to a Strict Baptist chapel in Luton once which was great. We went to one and it was on eschatology. We went to the British Council of Protestant Christian Churches Annual Conference in High Leigh, Hoddesden and on the last day we had lunch with Ian Paisley. The point that really stuck out to me was when Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" Pure in heart means one mindedness. The suicide bombers who flew into the World Trade Centre recently were 'one minded' their thoughts were on one thing, and we should have our minds set on one thing - Christ..

Uncle Kumar & Auntie Kandy - They live in Hemel Hempstead, Paul used to live with them and when I saw Paul I normally stayed the night there.

They have a really comfortable Sofa bed that I sleep on. I find what they have got to say interesting. District nurse and midwife.

They have lived in the same house since I was tiny. I always feel welcome and at home there. I invite myself round every now and then. This photo was taken when I was coming back from Southampton and I decided to drop in.

Finally, here is a picture of my family taken in the winter of 1977 (this is what my Dad says, I cannot recall that far back). It does figure though as David was born in October 1977 and we moved to Orton in March 1978. This would have been in Chorley Wood off the M25. My brother David would only be a few months old.
