Right/Left turns major to minor
Can you judge when it is safe to turn right?
Pedestrian Guide - could you cross this road as a
pedestrian, if so then it is safe to turn right and cross the traffic.
Try to get the central line just below your right mirror before turning right.
Try to get the curb just below the left mirror when turning left.

Open and closed junctions
Will we need to stop at this junction to see if it is safe to go? If we do then this is a closed junction, if we don't then this is an open junction
On the left is the Haddon turnoff near the A15/A1(M) junction, it is an open junction you can see into it to see if it is safe and there may be no need to stop.
On the right is a road in Peterborough City Centre and you cannot see so this is an example of a closed junction.

Bay Park
Get the knob for locking/unlocking the door in the middle of the bay and turn the steering wheel to left or right lock depending on whether you want to go into a bay on your left or on your right.
It is important to turn the steering wheel briskly so that it goes straight in. Just before you are straight, straigten the wheels up so that it closes in the bay.
Be aware though that everyone's posture is slightly different, you may need to set it at 67:33 instead of 50:50.
